Overview

Saratoga, a leading commercial food ingredient seasoning company serving branded and private-label food manufacturers nationwide is currently in need of a Maintenance Technician on X shift (2:00PM - 10:00pm). 

 

This position reports to the Plant Engineer and is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (including but not limited to)

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility's equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma, GED or other viable work experience is preferred.

SKILLS

  • Ability to do basic math, add, subtract, multiply, divide.
  • Ability to read, write and understand work orders in English.
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Able to communicate with others orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and understand scale readings.
  • Ability to do work accurately in a faced paced environment.
  • Posses the ability to communicate accurate information with all levels of employees and outside contractors.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC power distribution and PLC’s.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to computerized maintenance management systems.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, lay flat, bend, scoop and use repetitive motions.
  • Requires the ability to move 80lbs with or without assistance.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull drums weighing 300lbs with or without assistance.
  • Requires the ability to ascend/descend stairs.
  • Requires the ability to work at heights above 20 ft.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish between colors accurately.
  • Exposure to loud noises, water, dust, food allergens, and extreme temperatures.

Pay Range

Starting from USD $34.39/Hr.
